Rambles

I don't do a lot of promotion. Obviously I am shite at keeping up my blog. I let my website expire so at the moment I don't even HAVE one of those. I don't do the loops anymore. I barely even read other people's blogs. This is not the way to be a big time author.

But honestly, this year I have been having so much fun just writing, I don't feel like taking time away from that to remind the world that I am a writer.

I don't think this post is going to have a point, but honestly when do they when they come from me?

I do use twitter. If you'd like to come follow me I @DakotaRebel. I might not follow you back but I always try to respond to mentions if you want to ask a question or something while you're there. I have a rule about not following more than 25 people. I don't have a TweetDeck so I have to read it on my phone and for the most part I only tend to follow people I know personally. And Jim Gaffigan. But I sort of know him by association so it TOTALLY counts. (His sister worked with my mom. See, it's like we're family.)

Anyway. I am struggling to get a grip on where I belong. I am no longer hating my day job, so the push for full time writer status is not as hard as it was a year ago. I could live with writing part time and working full time now. I like to pay my bills on time and not wonder if my royalty checks will cover groceries for the next three months. (For the record, at the moment they would not.) I think I may be...*Gasp, comfortable.

I write books when I can, and I can take my time and focus to make sure they are good and up to the standards I hold my boys to. I don't have to jump at every opportunity because I can afford to wait for the next one.

What's my point? I don't have one. Not even a little. I'm just telling you what's in my brain at the moment. I promised to try to blog more, I didn't say it had to be nobel prize worthy words.

Anyway, if you haven't picked up Blood of the Fallen yet what the hell are you waiting for? If you follow my blog I assume you like my books and this one is a doozie. I promise. Drake and Elijah are quickly becoming my new favorite boys. You should really purchase a copy. www.resplendencepublishing.com.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I'll try to be more coherent next time.

XoXoXo
D
